p.s I was wrong about seeing the Grabaulle man so yeah but I did get to see alot of cool stuff
this is the farmer's market in Odense, the birthplace of H.C Andersen
birthplace (with brand new graffitti!)
a lot (hey lena) of stores here sell little stuff
four-sectioned material collage, meant to set the stage for H.C Andersen's life...random objects really.
they had a huge room with frescoes re-telling his life
the very first book ever written by Hans Christian Andersen
tiny house
interesting story here about H.C Andersen's grandfather,
read the text in the bottom picture first
these are the rolls of money that they found
his first Fairy Tale book
also modestly famous for his paper cut-outs
dude with chains
our tour guide (far right) really annoying girl (middle) awesome tour leader Morten (far left)
the river where H.C Andersen's mom washed the clothes of the town...
it froze over in the winter and she still was the only washer woman in town,
so she would go out on the ice and DRINK all day.
guess what she died from.
cathedral (with obligatory H.C Andersen statue)
as you can see from the pictures, this is a huge cathedral.
this is not the first saint of Denmark BUT it is his brother who died with him
this would be an epic tattoo
another great quote
Sarah and I refused to tour the ONE-ROOM HOUSE with a group of 20 people
apparently this is a chain of bars in Denmark, and I've only visited the location in Downtown Copenhagen, but never, ever, ever go to Australian Bar. Ever.
awesome statue outside of the Danish media museum
wow blogger is messing up my pictures but its ok.
This book was just as good as expected, I managed to flip through most of it in the gift shop of the Danish media museum, more on the most amazing gift shop in the world later
the windows were tinted a specific shade of green that turns purple in photos
anyways, the museum was amazing and one of the coolest museums I personally have ever experienced, so here's a nice taste of...actually I took pictures of everything there so here is the Danish Media Museum.
more Politiken
these pics are from an exhibit called "Blackout" which as far as I can tell was just there to show how cool huge rooms look like with random desks in them and purple-tinted windows.
