You Really Got A Hold On Me

another long one, don't complain.
the first thing we ran into out of the house...an honest-to-goodness tumbleweed.
the mountains and reno in the distance

slots everywhere...these were at the gas station on our way out into the desert

pyramid lake, a huge basin in the middle of nowhere

taken from the pyramid lake visitor's center
the pyramid lake gas station

pictures without captions are pretty enough to click on...it makes them bigger, kids.

studies in color and texture^^

this is Guru road, a walkway deep into the high desert near where Burning Man is...

it's basically a place for public art from people crazy enough to find themselves out in the desert.

and it is awesome.

this is one of my favorite pictures and I think it symbolizes the trip nicely

my gravestone

red desert rocks and green sea glass amen to that

click on this one if you can't read the rock
i declare this picture of the trip... Will got bored so he was throwing rocks.
double-click and you can see the rock

we went to the edge of the playa, you could see the black rock which is the namesake of the black rock desert but I don't know if its actually in any of the pictures, I was too busy heartily enjoying the situation.

obligatory group shot.

horses at the gas station on the way back

the drive out of the desert and back into the fringe of reno was probably the single most beautiful drive of my entire life. thanks to all participants.

one must reward oneself.

First let me tell you how envious I am of your trip. Next, all your pictures are breathtaking. Last, that picture of the broken windshield is TOTALLY reminiscent of No Country.

I miss you, Eric.
