
I came across this image some weeks ago during my African-American history class and it really caught my eye. I had forgotten about it but now I'm sequestered in the library studying for a big test on thursday and it came up in my extensively detailed and beautiful notes.

this is the Hampton Institute, one of the first and most imporant schools for african-american youth, the picture is from 1889...what a long, strange trip its been.

Hampton Institute (in Hampton VA) is now regarded as one of America's finest Historically Black Colleges and University's. HBCU.
