Career Opportunities

another day in London-day two or three I believe-we visited the Telegraph
largest newsroom in the world so they say
backup files

hilarious old british tour guide
headed to the real reason I went to London-the British Museum
the reading room-one of those places I promised myself I would get to eventually.
from wiki:
"The Reading Room was used by a large number of famous figures, including notably Mohammad Ali Jinnah[1], Karl Marx, Oscar Wilde, Mahatma Gandhi, Rudyard Kipling, George Orwell, George Bernard Shaw, Lenin, Norbert Elias, Arthur Rimbaud and H. G. Wells.[2]"
egyptology-the study of british soldiers stealing a lot of stuff

THE ROSETTA STONE

the sarcophagus of the high priest of alexandria.
So awesome.
more rosetta stone
and more and more rosetta stone
Tori and the entrance to the stolen palace

palace walls
now we're in the Rome section
PERACLES is so cool.
ethiopian slave depicted in pottery
stolen from the parthenon

they have the entire frieze (legendary art) from the Parthenon

Tori and the horse fight

the great hall
totem poles from Canada

Easter Island head
ubiquitous asian tourists and easter island head

on into Africa

throwing knives of all shapes and sizes
the many-headed art of asia
then we got lunch at an aaaawesome pub with gummi worms and Werther's and beer.

THE TATE MODERN IS AMAZING
this is the big exhibit there right now-post-apocalyptic

Picasso
hanging silverware post-steamroller=modern art

fascinating
I know you love Matisse.
this is the Basquiat that I came to the Tate for-it fulfilled all expectations.
then we met up with the group at Covent Garden for dinner
and we went to go see Chicago. Awful but just bad enough to lull me to sleep.

MORE LONDON TO COME
