It was quite dreary at Kenyon this morning.

...Random off-roading behind Old Kenyon...caught me off guard, not gonna lie

 half-court only basketball

see what I mean? this picture was taken at like, 11...the sky was unhappy.

 frozen roots

 stump.

ran into a surprising amount of people on my way back...becca first and foremost of course...

 Colin

 Pond sucks

I really like this picture of Dubick for some reason.

 the landing, long exposured.
(I had to come home for my grandma's funeral. More on that later. Meanwhile, enjoy an MTV Cribs-esque tour of my room and such later in the post.)

I was freaking people out on the plane taking pictures of the wings and such haha

 welcome home.

I love when my room is clean.

I decided to take a bunch of pictures of my room because
a. I was bored.
b. purely documentary reasons.
c. I really like my room.
d. it will most likely never be this clean again.
I've had most of those posters^ since middle school...The Thing poster I got when I was around 12.
sentimental value.

the "no skronking" sign is from a play in high school, don't laugh.
I didn't realize that these pictures will reveal how truly nerdy I am.
Whatever.

my awesome silver surfer poster and my Washington Social Club shrine
two set lists
two drumsticks awarded to me by Randy himself for "best dancer in the front row"
and a poster signed by the whole band. I didn't realize this until today when I read it after taking this picture, but Olivia signed it: "Eric: you have a nice voice. Love, Olivia"
they are so cool.

 Eli and the Brando

I taught Eli how to use my camera, this is what he ended up with...not half bad, birthday-boy.

my books, sentimental pictures, stuffed animals and my rugby awards

 Turbo Fighter...hard as f**k.

It took me about an hour to re-set up all my old action figures...

 totally worth it.

I decided to re-organize and document my comic collection.
And I really don't care if you think I'm a nerd.
(sorry if some of the rest of this is in total comic jargon...I'll try and explain.)
(btw, the background is my bed... a large twin, so you know that's a lot of comics.)
Also, you should know that while I am a serious collector, I'm not one who hides away all his comics, I have read and continue to read them all and I really, really enjoy them...so it's not like I keep them locked away or anything. They're just cool stories.
this^ is my mostly-full run of Grant Morrison on Justice League Of America, the first comics I got seriously into collection on my own. I know, I know it's much larger than just those issues above, but I have the rest collected in trade paperback.

I have a pretty serious run of Ultimate X-Men too (about 80 issues) but I stopped buying it after Mark Millar stopped writing it....and I went to college in a cornfield. I have some of this in trade paperback too.

Most of Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men. This is worth buying in trade, but I love the single issues.

Almost all of Ultimates Volume 1 and some of Volume 2. I have the rest of Volume 2 in trade paperback at school and I'm awaiting having enough money to buy Volume 3.

random selections of my Batman collection from over the years

alright all you hipster-comic-literary types, here's my (my dad's originally) original Watchmen...I have 2-12, I'm still missing #1 but I have the softcover...one of the best comics ever.

This awesome comic from the '70s, I bought a bunch of them at the Goodwills in Silver Spring, MD and Rockville, MD. It's a handbook on the marvel universe, random things like the schematics of Dr. Doom's armor and the official strength of the Hulk and such useless stuff. Like a Guiness Book Of World Records for 1970's Marvel comics. So cool.

most of the original Wolverine mini-series.

I have so many old issues of X-Men they wouldn't all fit on the bed...wow...

the original issues (thanks Dad, again) of the Dark Phoenix Saga, most of you should know this story because it was in the movies, but it's way better in the comics.

this is one of the best parts of my collection, an almost-complete run of the Frank Miller Daredevil from the 80's....anyone who knows comics at all knows that this is some seriously, seriously good stuff. This also includes:

Daredevil 181, the classic issue where Bullseye kills Elektra

Secret Wars number 8, the first appearance of the black spider suit, which later becomes venom, which later becomes Spider-Man 3 the movie, which was totally awful in every way.

The John Byrne reboot of Superman in the 80's...important but not worth explaining.

X-Factor the original series, first appearance of Archangel....apparently this sells for big bucks on eBay. But not this one.

 X Factor #1

UK editions of Miracleman...again important but not worth explaining.

haha X-Men Omega from the 90's...this was a big deal to me because it was the first comic my dad and I both went searching for together. Plus: it's really cool and has a shiny cover.

 the essentials.

Ezra caught me up on his high school drama-rama.

 Lil' Money.
